I know. I know. My updates are way overdue. I guess you get past a point when trying to catch up that you just give up. Well, I miss blogging and while I realize it would be impossible to catch up on an entire year, I decided to start with a few snapshots of 2011 and 2012.
(1) In the late summer 2011, Arif and Darla came for a visit. As always, it was good to see and catch up with them.
(2) My big brother Lee and his family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and we finally made it over to visit them in the early fall 2011. Julia and Bobby were there for a race, and it was good to have so many sibs together for a weekend. We had a great time and hope to see everyone again soon!

(3) In November, we went to Philadelphia for Jon's cousin Kyle's wedding. Jon officiated the wedding, so it was really special to see him marry his cousin who he has known his entire life. We stayed in the city and had a blast walking around with Jon's family.

(4) Christmas was a lot of fun. We spent Christmas day at our house then went to Helen, Georgia to be with the Kizer family. We ended our holiday travels in Pennsylvania with Jon's family.

I asked the girls if they were excited about their Christmas presents, and this was their response... |

(5) Also during the Christmas season, Jon's parents came for a visit, and we love getting to go with them to the Lights at the Zoo!
(6) In early January, 2012, I started a new position at the University of South Carolina as the Assistant Director for Student Engagement and Service-Learning. The position has been a perfect fit, and I love the work because there are so many opportunities to address needs in the surrounding community. There have been a number of times when Jon and my work have intersected, and it is very exciting to see God using us to minister to underserved members of the Columbia community. Because I have a new job, we have not had a lot of time to get away, and our only real time away was a short weekend to Pennsylvania for Jon's parents' retirement party. Even though it was a short trip, we enjoyed seeing family and reconnecting with old friends.
